52nd Annual Partnership Dinner Features Detroit Tigers Champions

The 2023 Rochester Christian University Partnership Dinner, sponsored by Chief Financial Credit Union and featuring players from the Detroit Tigers’ championship teams, and will be held April 22 at 6 p.m. at the Royal Park Hotel, located in downtown Rochester.

The dinner will feature former Detroit Tigers players Willie Horton, Jim Price, Lance Parrish and Dave Rozema in a panel-style discussion moderated by Eli Zaret, Detroit sports broadcaster and journalist. Horton and Price played on the 1968 championship team, while Parrish and Rozema helped lead the Tigers to the championship in 1984.

In collaboration with the Detroit Historical Society, a pop-up exhibit with artifacts from historic Tiger Stadium, memorabilia from the 1968 and 1984 championships, and a selection of signed, game-used equipment will be highlighted.

“The legacy that these players have created in the metro Detroit area unifies our communities and helps tell the story of the region, which Rochester Christian University has a key part in,” said Tracy Irwin, chief exhibitions and engagement officer for the Detroit Historical Society.

Partnership Dinner helps generate funding for student scholarships and other needs of the university. What was once held on campus and at Cobo Hall in Detroit, has grown into a tradition now hosted at the Royal Park Hotel.

“We are excited to gather together in partnership with legendary Detroit Tigers greats in authentic community as we celebrate Rochester’s story of impact across 64 years,” said Luke Fleer, vice president of development and alumni relations at Rochester Christian University.

All are welcome to attend the dinner. Tickets are $200 for adults, $175 for alumni and $150 for RCU students. Sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $1,000. Click here to reserve tickets or sponsorships.
