School of Nursing Accreditation

The Michigan Board of Nursing gave the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rochester University full approval on June 7, 2018. The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, 202.887.6791 | ccneaccreditation.org.

The three-year cumulative pass rate for all students taking the NCLEX-RN exam is 81%. The most recent cohort of program completers achieved a 90% pass rate. The BSN completed a comprehensive review with the CCNE in September 2016 and was granted full accreditation for a 10-year term.

Department of Teacher Education

Rochester University is authorized by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to recommend teacher candidates to the state for certification. The Michigan State Board of Education gave final approval to Rochester University’s Teacher Education Program on June 14, 2016.

Students completing the program achieved a cumulative 92.3% pass rate on the Teacher Certification Test according to the most recent report. The Teacher Education Program has applied for national accreditation through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, and currently is at candidacy phase in the process.  Visit the MDE Rochester College Approved Educator Preparation site »
